Summary
The presence of an up-to-date and sophisticated infrastructure signifies a fundamental stimulus for economic growth and hence raising people’s standard of living. Throughout its economic development our country needs fresh and unconventional decision-making in public servicing as well as modernization of infrastructure and public utilities. International experience reveals that public-private partnership (PPP) has turned out to be the most successful financial tool to provide funding for public infrastructure in times when central government and municipalities lack the necessary financial resources on the one hand and maximum effectiveness of invested capital is imperative on the other.

This project relies on the theoretical consideration of the essence of public-private partnerships as well as empirical research of some operating public-private partnerships in Veliko Tarnovo region.
