This research presents the current problems and opportunities for the development of tourism in Bulgaria concerning intermediary enterprises. The information used for the realization of this project was gathered from the Tourism Agency official registers, statistic data from the National Statistic Institute, expert viewpoints and an inquiry form, supplemented with an interview. Data from the empirical study have been analyzed in the light of contribution to the objects of the research towards quantitative and qualitative development in this sector which is such a priority for our country. On the grounds of the fulfilled analysis generalized conclusions have been drawn, connected with the possibilities for the improvement of the intermediary work, which will in a larger degree make organizing tourist travels easier. What’s more, this will essentially contribute to the complete use of tourist superstructure and will increase the common tourism efficiency, as a whole.

To be able to succeed in this competition the enterprises must incessantly enhance their competitiveness. One of the means for achievement higher and sustainable competitiveness is the modernization. In the presented research a main emphases is done on the problems of modernization and firm competitiveness of the cement production plants. On the basis of developed by our teem methodology we explore and measure the influence of the modernization on the competitiveness of the selected enterprises. As a result we have outlined some problems, formulated are conclusions and ideas (recommendations), which can be used for the cement production plants in their choice and realization of concrete competitive strategies.

  THE ROLE OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATION FOR ENDOGENOUS DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH-WESTERN PLANNING REGION

Our ... This survey is pointed to the evaluation of the present capacity of the local authorities to the process of endogenous development. In particular, the focus is on public administration in North-Western Planning Region and its attitudes towards and perceptions of the existing process and future prospects of community-based development. Our research shows a significant reticence of region authorities on implementtation of endogenous development concept. Despite ongoing development activity in the regional policy, the respondents would seem to be in rather chaotic phase of search where local problems have been identified and some ideas of development have been generated, but strategic solutions have not. In addition, local authorities would seem to seek for short-term results, while national government expects to create a long-term strategic planning in the locality. For effective endogenous development it is crucial to consolidate the local administration, to set up strong institutional nets to serve a community, to embrace leadership and participation in local dialog, to stimulate the interchange of ideas and information, particularly in ways which extend to the broader population, to strengthen interregional cooperation and so on. Social entrepreneurship required to use existing resources effectively and creatively to influence the planning level strategically administered.
