The problem is whether biofuel production is reasoned and whether it is a product, offering the humanity an energy source which is ecologically pure and environmentally-friendly. The exhaustion of fossil fuels and the change in climate require, on the one hand, adequate decisions to preserve the environment for the future generations. On the other hand, the deepening world economic crisis, worldwide famine, the shortage of food and food products and their rising prices make it necessary to manage and utilize waste, an enormous source of which are agriculture and waste products (domestic, commercial, industrial, institutional, etc.)

Unfortunately, regardless of the rich palette of methods for customer preferences analysis in the scientific literature, there is yet a lack of mature methodology for longitudinal analysis of discrete choice data. In this research we present and approbate an adequate methodology for longitudinal analysis of stated choice data and tracking in customer preferences structure, which is realized by combined application of methods for discrete choice analysis and methods for econometric analysis of panel data.

The source of the project necessity is deriving from the weak popularity and practical implementation of the problems with portfolio performance evaluation in Bulgarian investment theory and practice. The basic activities within the project and in the related scientific research are systematic analysis of the techniques for measuring the return of collective investment schemes, systematic analysis of the techniques for measuring the risk of collective investment schemes, review of techniques for measuring the risk-return characteristics of collective investment schemes and analysis of the performance of the Bulgarian collective investment schemes in conditions of financial crisis
